At Silver Oaks, we believe that every day should offer moments of creativity and connection - whatever the weather. Thatās why our residents enjoy access to tailored Activity Packs, thoughtfully designed to bring fun and inspiration to their day.
Each pack includes a variety of engaging and stimulating activities, from puzzles and word games to crosswords and memory prompts - all chosen to suit different interests and abilities. Whether itās a rainy afternoon or a quiet morning indoors, our residents can explore something new, stay mentally active. Supporting wellbeing through purposeful activity is at the heart of everything we do here at Silver Oaks.

Thereās nothing quite like the joy of fresh flowers and our residents recently spent a lovely afternoon creating their own floral arrangements, thanks to the thoughtful organisation of one of our residentsā families.
The tables were covered in bright blooms and greenery as everyone chatted and designed their displays. The home was soon filled with the most wonderful scents and colours.
It was a simple yet beautiful activity that brought creativity, and calm to the afternoon - and it left the home smelling absolutely gorgeous! š·š¹š

This month, we were delighted to celebrate the incredible 103rd birthday of our much-loved resident, Kath! Her milestone day was filled with laughter, friendship and a few wonderful surprises.
From handmade cards and pictures lovingly created by local schoolchildren, to visits from RAF personnel and her local MP, Amanda Hack, the outpouring of kindness and community spirit was truly heartwarming.
Kath designed her own birthday menu and enjoyed a private lunch with her closest friends. To top it all off, the team treated her to āSilver Service Day,ā where every request was served on a silver tray, with staff in white gloves and aprons!
Kath described the celebration as āone of the best birthdays Iāve ever hadā and we couldnāt agree more. Click here to read all the details!Ā

As the seasons changed and the leaves turned golden, our residents got creative with an autumn-themed art project that brought warmth and colour to our dining room.
Everyone took part in drawing and colouring beautiful seasonal pictures - from pumpkins and acorns to woodland scenes, which were then turned into unique placemats for everyone to enjoy at mealtimes.
The finished designs added a personal, homely touch to our tables and showcased the artistic talents within our Silver Oaks family. It was a lovely way to celebrate the beauty of autumn and make our shared spaces even more special. šāØ

Whether youāre choosing a care home for yourself, or youāre a relative wanting to help your loved one find the perfect place, there are a lot of factors to consider.
You want to find the best possible care home for you or your loved one to reside in, so hereās what you should be looking for when searching for a good care home...
A day in life of a carer at Silver Oaks is never easy but is always rewarding. Our carers put our residentsā health and happiness at the forefront of their working day. Two days working at our boutique care home are never the same.
We spoke to our carers about what their life is like working at Silver Oaks, and what their day looks like from the minute they begin, to the second they finish up for the night.
At Silver Oaks, we understand that our boutique, care home is our residentsā home too and we make every effort to ensure your loved ones are looked after and made to feel at home.
This is especially important during the winter season, when the temperature drops and the environment outside gets a lot harsher.
ā
There are a lot of different types of care available, and even more kinds of care homes, all specialising in varied aspects of responsibilities and attention.
One type of care home that can be hugely beneficial to residents is the boutique care home. different from other care homes, like nursing and residential, simply because itās smaller and provides a more personalised environment. But why should you consider a boutique care home for your loved one and what benefits do they have over the other types of care available.
Everyone is welcome to join us in our beautiful garden on Saturday 4th August. There will be live entertainment, including a theatre production, local craft stalls, games, hot food, raffle, tombola, drinks and delicious homemade cakes. We will be collecting for a chosen charity TBC.
