As we come to the end of another busy month at the home, we’re excited to share some of the moments that brought our residents connection, and plenty of smiles. From intergenerational visits to special celebrations and upcoming seasonal fun, there’s been lots happening and even more to look forward to.
This month, our home was filled with energy and curiosity as Year 1 pupils from Whitwick St John the Baptist Primary School came to visit. As part of their “What is History?” topic, the children spent time chatting with our residents about life in years gone by. The conversations were lively, heart-warming and full of wonderful questions. It was a beautiful reminder of how powerful intergenerational moments can be and how much joy they bring to everyone involved.

We’re excited to share that we’ve launched a brand-new weekly Activities Planner designed to keep everyone informed and inspired. Our goal is to help residents and their families feel even more connected to the daily life of the home and look forward to what’s happening each day. From crafts to music to social gatherings, we hope this new planner adds a little extra anticipation each week.

Remembrance Day was a meaningful and moving occasion in our home. Many of our residents wrapped up warm and headed out to join the local community in watching the parade, an opportunity to honour and reflect on the bravery and sacrifices of those who served. Inside, the home was decorated with thoughtful touches, including special decorations at lunchtime. It was a day filled with quiet reflection and gratitude.

At Silver Oaks, we understand that our boutique, care home is our residents’ home too and we make every effort to ensure your loved ones are looked after and made to feel at home.
This is especially important during the winter season, when the temperature drops and the environment outside gets a lot harsher.
There are a lot of different types of care available, and even more kinds of care homes, all specialising in varied aspects of responsibilities and attention.
One type of care home that can be hugely beneficial to residents is the boutique care home. different from other care homes, like nursing and residential, simply because it’s smaller and provides a more personalised environment. But why should you consider a boutique care home for your loved one and what benefits do they have over the other types of care available.
